I am a Saskatchewan artist based out of Saskatoon. I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with High Honours in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours program). Much of my work is focused on the human figure and incorporating themes of abstraction, expressionism and collage to exaggerate the human form.
My Early emphasis on figurative drawing has evolved into an abstract approach to the figure and organic landscape environments. Inspiration from my key influences, Egon Schiele and Gustave Klimt have pushed my drawings to a deeper degree of interpretation and expression. Using wet and dry media I incorporate gestural marks and washes to create depth and history. The process of incorporating ink and charcoal washes triggers a response that is immediate and explorative which allows spontaneity in the work. My drawings are a mirror of the world around me, a reflection of my explorations.
