Rob Sexauer

Rob has always been passionate about art and creating hand-forged custom pieces. Inspired by nature and the world around him, he plays with light and texture to create remarkable pieces filled with visual interest. He graduated with distinction from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1990 with a major in Sculpture. Working with artisans in a bronze foundry shortly after college, Rob found his true passion - working with metals. In 2005, he moved to Saskatoon and started Dragonfly Artistic Metals. Rob has continued to work with a variety of metals, including copper, brass, bronze, and steel.

Rob is involved in his community and is always willing to do things for the city he loves. He has been involved in many projects that have become landmarks of Saskatoon, most notably the Meewasin commemorative pedestrian gates located behind the Bessborough Gardens. He designed and hand-forged the topographical views of the South Saskatchewan river using pieces reclaimed from the historic traffic bridge. The new river valley trail was built and has continued to be maintained using proceeds from these pieces.
